A growing business has plans to move from the north end of Zanesville and into the heart of the city. 

Public relations and marketing specialist for Quality Care Partners, Jennifer Martin, said the business has outgrown its current space on Bell Street and that moving downtown will allow QCP the hope of continued growth.

Buckeye Lake Dredging on Hold

LICKING COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is looking to lease sites to deposit sediment from Buckeye Lake due to a lack of places to store the material. The current dredging work stoppage should last less than two weeks, until a new site for storing sediment is completed.

For years, the Zanesville Downtown Association had noticed a continued decline in the city's center. 

However, since 1995 the ZDA has aimed to reverse that trend. Manager of the ZDA, Dana Matz, said that's the reason for the annual membership drive. The drive is ongoing this week.

Matz said board members are going door to door to tell businesses the benefits of supporting the ZDA.

The Zanesville Downtown Association is helping out the small businesses in town.

Following black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, is small business Saturday, celebrated annually on the Saturday after Thanksgivng. If you are interested in preserving the city you call home, there's an organization to help you do just that.

The Zanesville Downtown Association is currently calling for members. The mission of the group is to oversee the revitalization of downtown Zanesville.

" We are a government liaison, so we work with the city and the county and state folks to make improvements to our downtown businesses as well. We also do a lot of real estate, " said ZDA Manager, Dana Matz.

The Zanesville Downtown Association is opening up membership to anyone who lives in the Zanesville-Muskingum County area. Memberships start at 30-dollars to 100-dollars. The association has a board that meets quarterly to discuss needed improvements, construction updates and safety issues.

The Zanesville Downtown Association manager has a new job description - and title.

Dana Matz was recently promoted to Member Services Director of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce. Matz said his new position comes with many new responsibilities, but he is fortunate, and ready for the challenge.

The Gus Macker basketball tournament may have been canceled, but the Zanesville Downtown Association is sponsoring another fundraiser to help recover some costs.

The Gus Macker basketball tournament was canceled, but a new fundraiser is supporting the Zanesville Downtown Association.

Tickets for an upcoming raffle will be sold at the welcome center, the farmer's market and businesses in Zanesville.  Downtown Association manager Dana Matz said the prizes are worth bragging about.
