Today the Zanesville City Schools Hall of Fame Committee announced the names of the Hall of Fame class for 2013,

This year the seven inductees are diverse in their accomplishments: Dr. Joseph Booth a local urologist, Todd Cerney a musician, Wayne Clark who coached track and field for 57 seasons, Chris Gaiters who excelled in football for Zanesville and then in college and is now a detective in Minneapolis, Dr. John Miller is a professor and motivational speaker, Dale Mautz is a 60 year...

AT&T, AAA and the Ohio State Highway Patrol demonstrated during a school assembly that text messages should wait until after driving.

The assembly for 10th, 11th and 12th graders featured presentations and the screening of a ten-minute documentary called "The Last Text" . The Zanesville High School hosted the 5th annual Y-Bridge Cheerleading Classic Sunday afternoon. "Winland" gym was packed with over 700 cheerleaders and spectators. Teams from all over Ohio came together to compete against one another with the goal of advancing on to the next level.

Trees purchased at Zanesville High School will go to help the newest alumni.

Thursday in the courtyard at ZHS plaques were unveiled in front of 15 trees purchased by former graduating classes.

The proceeds go toward the Zanesville Alumni Association scholarship fund. This year $1,000 scholarships were awarded to three graduates of the class of 2012- Caitlin Coulson, Payton Norris and Justine Stewart.

Mind Your Own Business CEO Cassandra McDonald spoke about encouraging children to make goals, believe in themselves to succeed as they move on past high school.

Thursday the National Day of Prayer was celebrated in Muskingum County at an event at Zanesville High School.

This year's theme is, "Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord." Prayers were said for teachers, law enforcement, firefighters, military and business people who make Muskingum County a safe and productive place to live.

Several performances were also put on by the Zanesville High School Choir.

A real life lesson took place in Zanesville -- but it was not real... it was a mock accident at Zanesville High School on Tuesday that killed one and injured five others.
