 Hundreds of kids lined up this morning to pick up their stuffed backpacks from the "tools for schools" program.

Volunteers arrived bright and early and the pick-up took place from 8:30-11 a.m. at the Zanesville Middle School.Those who arrived early for pick up even lended a hand for the cause, co-chair of the program, Betsy Thomas explains:

"We started at 8:30 but we got here at 7:30 and there were already cars in line waiting and we had extra supplies left...

UPDATE: Zanesville Middle School will see a familiar face in the Principal's seat this fall.

Zanesville City Schools adds two new principals to its roster as the school year approaches.

The Zanesville City School Board named Garry Young as their next principal at Zanesville High School. Young comes from Union High School and is a graduate of Chillicothe High School and Ohio University. He also served as a band director and music teacher at East Knox prior to his work at Union Local.

Class is in session for the City of Zanesville and the word is out - bullying will not be tolerated.

Zanesville Middle School is now the home to more than 500 Seventh and Eighth graders from both the north and south end of town. Students from Grover Cleveland and Roosevelt Middle School have come together under one roof. Principal Kacey Cottrill has addressed parent concerns with a newly developed "anti-bulling pact."
