The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is saying thank you to all those who helped with the Storybook Christmas.

This afternoon the chamber provided a luncheon at Bryan's Place for everyone who helped with the decorations and lights in downtown Zanesville, Dresden and New Concord. A long time employee of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is retiring.

Information Coordinator Shirley McCallister began working on August 15th of 1985 at the Tourist Bureau which then joined the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce in Muskingum County took advantage of a great local product.

Five Barracuda Intruder Defense Systems were purchased for the office suites in the Muskingum County Welcome Center building. The product is designed to keep doors securely locked in the event of an active shooting situation. The 23rd Festival of Trees has come to an end.

The annual Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Fundraiser was held at the Muskingum County Welcome Center and wrapped up Friday night. The Lorena Sternwheeler went through a routine inspection by the Coast Guard in March and it turns out the repairs weren't as expensive as they originally thought.

"We are very excited the Lorena Sternwheeler is back in the water and it has already set sail," said Kelly Ashby, V.P. of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce.

More than 200 trees, wreathes and decorative items will be auctioned off as part of this year's Festival of Trees.

All donated items will be auctioned off this Friday from the Welcome Center in Downtown Zanesville. Vice President of Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby said each item comes with a special incentive.

"The incentives include a plane ride to a ball park, you can pick from Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburgh," explained Ashby....
