The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority is talking about the oil and gas industry and future economic development.

At Monday's meeting, board members discussed continuing efforts to reach out to the oil and gas industry to provide services that will benefit our area.

The Port Authority continues to express interest in creating new job ready sites in Muskingum County.

Members of the board in attendance discussed the need to create a new shovel ready job ready site at the Eastpointe Industrial Park, to enhance their chances of selling the property to a willing company.

Muskingum County Officials said they now have a better understanding of the impact Utica shale will have on the county.
