Cartnal Chooses Otterbein

A key piece to the Newark Lady Wildcats' Final Four baseball team has made her college decision.

Senior guard Ali Cartnal will continue her basketball career at Otterbein University. Cartnal was an All-OAC and All-District selection for Newark. She joins a Lady Cardinal squad that is looking to build on a 5-20 record last season.

A new film digging into the Internal Revenue Service is coming to Zanesville Tuesday.

The movie, UnFair: Exposing the IRS will play twice at the Cinemark in the Colony Square Mall. The first showing will be at 7 p.m. With the second showing at 9:30. Kay Clymer of the Zanesville Patriots said the film will offer alternatives to the IRS.

A town hall meeting proposed the idea that the current tax system is flawed and a tax reform is needed.

Today the Zanesville Patriots held a free public showing of the documentary, "Fracknation" at the Zanesville-Muskingum County Welcome Center in hopes to clear the negative air about fracking. The Zanesville Patriots hosted an energy summit at Bryan Place Saturday.

Club president Kay Clymer says the group discusses environmental issues and the impact on Ohio.

"It's all about energy. It's about coal, electricity, the severance tax. What will happen to us. We were a top producer in the nation we are now down to the bottom, jobs are leaving," said Clymer.
