Expect traffic tie ups in Zanesville starting Friday as football fans from all over the area and state make their way to the Y-city.

Zanesville Police expect as many as eight to ten thousand football fans will travel to Sulsberger Stadium over the next two days. The facility's hosting two playoff games, one Friday night and one Saturday night.

Charges have now been filed regarding the incident that took place in the parking lot at Genesis Bethesda Hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to Zanesville Police, 31-year-old John Ratchford of Avon Lake had stopped at the hospital to visit a patient when he was assaulted by 49-year-old Danny Devoll and 25-year-old Dannie Devoll, both of Zanesville.

When assaulted by the two Devolls, Ratchford pulled a gun . The gun was knocked away, and Ratchford then ran into the hospital...

A Zanesville man who was listed on the U.S. Marshal's most wanted list has been caught.

Police Chief Kenneth Miller says his Special Response Team was called to an apartment at 1501 Venus Place around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

After several hours of negotiations, 32-year-old Nikko Sealey surrendered without incident at 5 a.m Tuesday.

Sealey was wanted by the U.S. Marshal  for a parole violation.

 Zanesville Police investigate an attempted robbery of the Speedway Gas station on Blue Avenue. 

Captain Doug Merry said that the incident took place around 1:20 a.m. when a male subject walked into the gas station with a knife and a black t-shirt wrapped around his face.

The Joint Drug Unit of the Zanesville Police Department and the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office conducted a drug raid at a home on the east side of town.

It happened around 11:40 Thursday morning at 1329 Pallas Avenue. Police Chief Kenneth Miller said brothers John and Derek Jamison were charged with multiple counts of drug possesion and drug trafficking. They also were charged with multiple counts of having a weapon while under disability.

Zanesville Police investigate a shooting in the 700 block of Dryden Road.

Lt. Chris Phipps said they were called to the area around 11:20p.m. Tuesday and found two homes that had bullet holes in them.

Residents told officers that the shooting of the homes had actually taken place around 9:00p.m. No injuries were reported.

Zanesville Police have charged a man in connection with a burglary .

Police Chief Kenneth Miller says officers responded to 634 Fairmont Avenue around 5:00  p.m. Wednesday after a man reportedly broke into the house and tried to stab the homeowner.

Chief Miller says 27-year-old Jeffrey New was arrested in the incident.

New is facing felony charges of burglary and aggravated robbery and a misdemeanor charge of theft.

A Zanesville man is in custody after leading officers on a chase through three counties Thursday night.

According to the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office, 35-year-old Kacey Weekley had been wanted on arrest warrants for failing to pay child support and falsification. Zanesville Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that sent five people to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 3:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 146 and Northpointe Drive.

Sgt. Jon McCoy says a car traveling on State Route 146 rear ended a Frito Lay truck.

He says six people were involved in the accident with five being taken to the hospital by Genesis Community Ambulance.

Members of the Zanesville City Council Board met to discuss the addition of legislation banning enterprise solicitation.

During Monday's public safety meeting at city hall, council members worked together to come up with a defined set of rules regarding panhandling. Council members agree it's becoming a real problem for the city and it needs to be regulated.
