 ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Chief Kenneth Miller with the Zanesville Police Department said that one of their retired K-9s has passed away.

Paco served ZPD from 2006 until his retirement in 2014 at the age of 10. Paco was a Dutch Shepherd who passed from an apparent heart attack.

Paco was purchased entirely with public donations and after his retirement lived with Ptl. Travis Groves. He passed on July 2.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Tuesday at City Hall officials from the Ohio State Highway Patrol met with Mayor Jeff Tilton and the Zanesville Police Department to donate much needed radios.

In total 50 portable radios were given from the Highway Patrol to Zanesville Police. Col. Paul Pride, who is the superintendent of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said that the patrol had to purchase new radios for their troopers, but that the donated ones work perfectly fine.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio - Thursday at approximately 8:32 p.m. Zanesville Police were called to the MotoMart on 2341 Maple Avenue for an armed robbery and it didn’t take authorities long to apprehend the suspect.

Authorities say 24-year-old Derrick W. Davis of Lancaster, Ohio was found only minutes after the police received the call. Chief of Police Kenneth Miller described the situation after ZPD answered the call.

A Zanesville man wanted in connection to a New Year's eve shooting in Zanesville has been arrested.

Zanesville Police Chief Kenneth Miller says Darrin Wade was arrested in Canton on Thursday.

Miller says Wade was brought back to Zanesville Friday and is currently in the city jail.

Wade is charged with aggravated robbery and felonious assault, both with firearm specifications and having a weapon while under a disability.

Charges have now been filed regarding the incident that took place in the parking lot at Genesis Bethesda Hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to Zanesville Police, 31-year-old John Ratchford of Avon Lake had stopped at the hospital to visit a patient when he was assaulted by 49-year-old Danny Devoll and 25-year-old Dannie Devoll, both of Zanesville.

A Zanesville man who was listed on the U.S. Marshal's most wanted list has been caught.

Police Chief Kenneth Miller says his Special Response Team was called to an apartment at 1501 Venus Place around 10:45 p.m. Monday.

After several hours of negotiations, 32-year-old Nikko Sealey surrendered without incident at 5 a.m Tuesday.

Sealey was wanted by the U.S. Marshal  for a parole violation.

 Zanesville Police investigate an attempted robbery of the Speedway Gas station on Blue Avenue. 

Captain Doug Merry said that the incident took place around 1:20 a.m. when a male subject walked into the gas station with a knife and a black t-shirt wrapped around his face.
