A Columbus man's court case in Muskingum County can move forward after a hearing Monday in Common Pleas Court. 

In front of Judge Mark Fleegle, both the Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office and Nicholas Hale's attorney agreed to the evaluation report of the Forensic Diagnostic Center of District Nine Incorporated.

The report shows that Hale is competent to stand trial.

Sgt. Jon McCoy with the Zanesville Police Department says the missing 10-year-old boy has been located and is safe.

McCoy says a friend of the family found the child in the woods in the Wayne Avenue area.  He was cold, hungry and wet and had a few minor scrapes, but McCoy says he appeared to be in good health overall.  The boy is being taken to Genesis Hospital as a precaution.

UPDATE (8:30 p.m.) :  The Zanesville Police Department reports the missing child has been located and is in good condition.


The Zanesville Police Department is asking for your help locating a 10-year-old boy.

One man was sent to the hospital following a shooting Thursday night in the 1500 block of Ridge Avenue.

It happened in an alley off of Ridge around 9:30 p.m.   According to Sgt. Jon McCoy of the Zanesville Police Department, one male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the torso. He was alive when first responders arrived and was transported to Genesis Hospital by Community Ambulance. The extent of his injuries is not known at this time.

An accident Thursday morning on Interstate 70 is causing a traffic slow down. 

Around 2:25 am scanner traffic indicated a semi had rolled over on I-70 west near the Fieldhouse. 

The right lane of I-70 west will be closed as the semi is towed and clean-up begins by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

A Zanesville man is facing charges in the shooting on Liberty St. near the Canteen Bar early Saturday morning.

Clarence E. Davis has been charged with three counts of Felonious Assault with a Firearm Specification and one count of Discharging at or into a Habitation with a Firearm Specification. The charges follow a shooting that wounded three people.

The Zanesville Police Department is releasing new footage of a suspect who robbed the Subway on North 7th Street Wednesday night.

The man is described as being a 6-foot tall, thin, white male with tattoos on his arms and face, wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

Zanesville police are investigating a robbery at the Subway on North 7th Street.

It happened around 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Sgt. Jon McCoy says the man, who was not armed, entered the store and demanded money. He says only one employee was in the store at the time of the robbery.

McCoy says the suspect got into a car that was parked in the back of the building and drove away.

A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

The Zanesville Police Department has released new details into a multi-vehicle accident that sent several people to the hospital Thursday night.

Captain Tony Coury said around 6:40 p.m. ZPD was dispatched to Maple Avenue for a multi-vehicle injury accident. Upon arrival, officers discovered that five vehicles were involved.
