A two-car accident at the intersection of Main Street and Augusta Street sends two people to the hospital.

It happened around 6 p.m. Sergeant Chris Phipps of the Zanesville Police Department says a Chevy pickup truck was heading East on Main Street when it applied the brakes for a semi pulling out of Augusta Street and onto Main.

The pickup truck was then rear-ended by Victoria Clark of Zanesville who was driving a Chevy Blazer. There were no passengers in her vehicle.

A Zanesville man is sentenced to 447 days in jail for a rash of car break-in's in the city.

Police Captain Mike Baker says 19-year-old Jared Englehart was arrested Sunday night and charged with 22 counts of vehicle break-ins, most of which occurred in the north end of town.

Several shots were fired Tuesday night on Luck Avenue in Zanesville.

Authorities were called to the scene in front of 163 Luck around 10 p.m.

"We responded to this area in reference to shots fired with possible victim. Upon our arrival we located some evidence that suggested there was a shooting, but we have as yet to locate any suspects," says Sgt. Chris Phipps, Zanesville Police Department.

Zanesville Police charge a local man in connection to the Wednesday morning robbery of a local gas station.

Police said 22-year-old Cody West has been charged by the Muskingum County Prosecutors office with one count of robbery a third degree felony.

He's currently incarcerated in the Zanesville City Jail. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush said that just before 6am Wednesday morning the Starfire Gas Station at 727 Pershing Road was the victim of robbery.

The Zanesville Police continue to investigate an early morning robbery in Zanesville.

Detective Sergeant Ric Roush said that just before 6a.m. Wednesday morning a male subject walked into the Starfire Gas Station at 727 Pershing Road and demanded cash from the male clerk on duty.

Roush said the robber assaulted the clerk by striking him in the face, then fled on foot.

Detective Roush said they do have a suspect in custody and he's currently being held in the Zanesville City...

One person is taken to the hospital following a three car accident in Zanesville.

It happened around 5:15 Monday evening in front of AK Steel. The Police Department says the driver of a PT Cruiser struck a silver Impala and a Dodge Avenger that were parked in front of Armco.

Officers said the driver of the PT Cruiser suffered a broken arm.

The Zanesville Fire Department and Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.

The Zanesville Police Department says it's looking for a man, who was believed to be armed.

Patrolmen were called to an earlier incident in the day, involving a Kenneth Johnson of Zanesville.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a robbery that happened over night.

Police tell WHIZ News the Econo Lodge on North Seventh Street was robbed around 2:30 Wednesday morning.

One of the employees reported they were closing out the bar and didn't think anyone was there when a man came out of no where, wearing a mask, and took the money they were counting on the bar and ran.

Police are still investigating.

The city is also discussing how the Zanesville Police Department is handling its overtime issues, and the consensus was all involved were doing a good job.

Chief Eric Lambes says he would like to think he's contributed to the decline in overtime.

"I give most of the credit to the officers. They're doing their best to cut down on overtime while still giving the citizens good protection, " says Lambes.

Five women arrested following an undercover operation appeared in Zanesville Municipal Court Tuesday.

Lt. Tony Coury says the women were arrested Monday evening when undercover officers conducted a prostitution sting.

According to court records, Courtney Coen pled guilty to one count of soliciting and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Judge William Joseph gave her a 500 dollar fine and 45 days in jail with the condition of no repeats for two years. April Martin pled...
