A driver at the Dresden Road and Maple Avenue intersection crashed into a Zanesville business early Wednesday morning.

According to the Zanesville Police Department, a 25-year-old man suffering from a medical condition was driving down Dresden Road when he rolled through the intersection at Maple Avenue, and crashed right into AAA Spa and Pool Services.

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a possible shooting incident early Wednesday morning.

Lieutenant Chris Phipps said police officers recovered about eight bullet casings on Lee Street in Zanesville around 4:30 a.m. The Lieutenant said there were no witnesses, and there are no suspects at this time.

No further details have been released, as the incident remains under investigation.

The Public Safety Committee Meeting was Tuesday evening at City Hall to discuss important issues at both Zanesville police and fire departments.

Public Safety Director Fred Buck says the meeting serves as a liaison between his department and city council.

A Zanesville man enters pleas to several charges including robbery. 

In Muskingum County Common Pleas Court on Monday, 38-year-old Teddie Hunter plead guilty to one count of robbery and a second amended robbery count. Three other charges will be dropped at the time of sentencing. 

Judge Mark Fleegle ordered a pre-sentence investigation in the case and continued Hunter's bond.

In Muskingum Common Pleas Court, Monday, 44-year-old Jason Williams plead guilty to several charges including breaking and entering, theft, possession of criminal tools, tampering with a coin machine, aggravated robbery and felonious assault. 

Judge Fleegle issued a pre sentence investigation and continued Williams bond at $150,000.

Since 1981, Lambes has patrolled the streets of Zanesville, made sergeant, lieutenant and has spent the last 13 years as Zanesville's Police Chief. On Wednesday, Zanesville City Council members, friends, family and other law enforcement officers stopped by the police station to wish Lambes well at his retirement party. One person was sent to the hospital following an accident at the intersection of Underwood and Zane Street.

The accident happened just before 7 o'clock Monday night. Zanesville Police Patrolman Shane Starkey says a woman in a silver sedan was driving southbound on Underwood Street when she ran a red light. Patrolman Starkey says that's when a dark colored sedan traveling westbound on Zane Street struck the silver sedan.

At the end of the month, the Zanesville Police Department will say goodbye to Chief Eric Lambes after serving as chief for 13 years.

Lambes will be retiring on November 28th. The role of chief will need to be filled by a ZPD captain. The city of Zanesville is in the beginning stages of the selection process through civil service. Some funding will soon be available for the Zanesville Police Department to put more officers on the road.

Five woman accused of being prostitutes are off the streets thanks to an undercover sting by the Zanesville Police Department.

Tony Coury said after recent complaints from downtown area business owners, ZPD conducted an undercover sting using an informant and arrested Misty Dawn Taylor, Morgan Jackson, Jennifer Toombs, Donna Schrack and Ashley Lombardi this past week.
