Traffic was closed Tuesday evening for about an hour after a two vehicle car accident.
According to Sergeant McCoy from Zanesville Police Department, around 6 pm Michelle Grant of Zanesville, was stopped in traffic in the southbound lane waiting to turn left into the Dairy Mart, at 714 Pine Street, when Michael Willison of Zanesville, rear ended Grant.

City Council passed an emergency ordinance Monday night for the purchase of three new vehicles for the Zanesville Police Department. The new Dodge Chargers and all of the equipment that will be installed, will cost the city over 100-thousand dollars. A hit-skip crash is under investigation in Zanesville.
Police said there were actually two separate accidents involving the same vehicle. It all started when a Chevy Cavalier hit a Dodge Grand Caravan near the Y Bridge.
Police said the driver of the Caravan was transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries, but the driver of the Cavalier kept going and got involved in another crash at Terry's Tavern on Linden Avenue.

The Ohio Attorney General's Peace Officer Training Academy is here in Zanesville this week. The virtual training puts officers in real-life situations, where they are forced to make critical decisions.
