Members of the Zanesville City Council Board met to discuss the addition of legislation banning enterprise solicitation.

The Zanesville Police Department provided assistance to an outside Law Enforcement Agency in conducting a raid.

Three people have entered pleas in connection to a shooting incident on the east end of town.

24-year-old Skyler Sanders plead guilty to aggravated robbery with a fire arm specification. 22-year-old Kasseanna Hill of Zanesville plead guilty to tampering with evidence. A third defendant 36-year-old William Nottingham of Zanesville plead guilty to a count of theft of drugs (heroin) and tampering with evidence.

Zanesville Police said their investigation into a weekend shooting is progressing.

It happened at Hoppys on Putnam Avenue in the early morning hours Sunday, injuring four people.

Wednesday, Chief Eric Lambes spoke about the investigation. He said detectives continue to interview those who were there or have knowledge of the event and now have several people they're interested in, but no named suspects.

 A Zanesville man has been indicted in connection with a theft that resulted in a dog attack that injured a police officer. 

According to court records 44-year-old Jason Williams has been charged with aggravated robbery, felonious assault, breaking and entering, theft, possessing criminal tools and tampering with a coin machines.

Zanesville Police nab their suspect in a string of robberies.

Captain Tony Coury said following Wednesday's robbery of Shrivers Pharmacy on Brighton Boulevard, they were able to locate their suspect at 1226 1/2 Ridge Avenue.

The man is also suspected of six other robberies that took place within the last 14 days.

A body found partially submerged in the 6th Street Canal has been identified.

Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury said that the body is that of 61-year-old Edward Swick of Zanesville.

"Ed was not homeless. He did live on 6th Street only a couple of blocks from where he was found," said Captain Coury. "He has a limited number of family members. We have made contact with a relative and informed him of his death."

According to Zanesville Police, early Sunday night, a female driving a pick-up truck was going north bound on Maysville Avenue and failed to yield to another car, driven by a male, that was going south bound in the intersection on Pine Street.

An accident early Friday morning sends one man to the hospital.

Zanesville Police Lt. Bill Shaw said that 24-year-old Dennis Carter was traveling north on Pine Street in a black Yukon when he went off the road in the Echo Avenue area and struck a pole around 2:30 a.m.

He then struck the steps and handrail of a church and overturned.

Carter was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

Lt. Shaw said he was cited with failure to maintain reasonable control.

The Zanesvile Police Department is advancing it's training through high-tech simulation scenarios.

The training is offered through the Ohio Attorney General's Peace Officer Training Academy. Zanesville Police Captain, Tony Coury says that this type of advanced training will educate officers on new techniques.
