Zanesville Police said an early Friday morning fire is under investigation.

Lt. Bill Shaw said that around 3a.m. they believe someone set a parked truck on fire on Luck Avenue.

Police are trying to determine if the incident was a random act or the owner of the vehicle was targeted.

Lt. Shaw said the owner of the vehicle does not know why anyone would do that to him.

Police continue to search for a suspect.

Zanesville Police nab a suspect in a break-in and look for one still on the loose.

Lt. Bill Shaw said that around 1:40 Friday morning officers were called to a two story home in the 300 block of Woodlawn Avenue.

The upstairs resident was hearing supposed to be vacant. Officers were able to arrest a 22-year-old man that had broken into the downstairs and was cutting up and stealing copper plumbing.

He's now being held in the city jail on burglary and possession of criminal...

Zanesville police spent half the night out searching for a group of teens.

Captain Mike Baker said a group of ten juveniles tried to make a getaway last night from their Juvenile Counseling Center for Kids with Deviant Behavior on Main Street. He said they used the fireworks as a cover for their escape.

"We found them all over the city out on the interstate there were ten of them and it took us most of the night to round them all up," Baker said.

Three people were taken to the hospital Friday night after an accident in Zanesville, including a pregnant woman.

Authorities say around 9:30 at the intersection of Putnam Avenue and Maysville Pike, a green Hyundai Elantra ran a red light and hit an SUV that was turning onto Putnam from the Maysville Pike.

Sgt. Chris Phipps says the driver of the Elantra is pregnant and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, as was the passenger in the Elantra and the driver of the SUV.

Zanesville police say that had several people call in and say a woman was attempting to jump off the Y-bridge.

Lt. Bill Shaw says it officers arrived at the Y-bridge around 8pm Monday night where a woman was threatening to jump off. A Zanesville policeman talked to the woman and eventually got close enough to grab her and pull her over.

She was taken to the hospital.

Zanesville pollice are searching for a driver who hit a light pole and fled around 3 Tuesday morning.

It happened at the intersection of Schaum Avenue and Owens Street. Police say someone hit a utility pole and took off. Just minutes later police did find the vehicle on Cliffwood Avenue. ZPD took the car to an impound lot and are still searching for the driver at this time.

Zanesville Police are investigating a domestic violence situation that has led to a stabbing.

Around 10:30 Thursday Lt. Bill Shaw says authorities were called to Hoge Avenue after there were reports of a disturbance. When officers arrived they found that a 49-year-old woman had stabbed her live in spouse several times.

Lt. Shaw says the woman is under arrest for felonious assault and the man treated at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with non life threatening wounds.

A car crash on Maple Avenue took out the fence and sign for Never More Tattoo Studio.

The accident happened around 9 p.m. The male driver of the black, Nissan was pulling out of Dairy Queen when Zanesville Police say the driver broadsided the silver, Sentra traveling north on Maple Avenue.

The Sentra then went through the fence and crashed into the Never More tattoo fence and sign. No one was injured in the crash and there is no damage to any buildings. Zanesville Police Officer...

A Zanesville motorist is in trouble with authorities after being picked up for multiple traffic violations, including hitting a State Patrol vehicle.

Zanesville Police Lt. Bill Shaw says 35-year-old Michel Ellis was driving on Mead Street around 2:20 Thursday morning when he went left of center striking a parked truck head on, causing heavy damage to his vehicle. Ellis attempted to flee the crash and hit a second parked car on Mead Street.

A routine traffic stop leads to a foot chase around 3:30 Friday morning.

Lt. Bill Shaw with the Zanesville Police Department says officers were attempting to pull over a car when the driver took off. The driver and the passenger bailed out of hte car and led police on a foot chase.

Both were caught a short time later. Lt. Shaw says the driver of the vehicle is being charged with driver under the influence, driving under suspension and resisting arrest.
