A pipe collapse in Zanesville is leaving the city water department to find funds to repair the damage.

Public Service Director Mike Sims said they discovered the large depression that is about 50 feet off the north end of the pavement on Brandywine Boulevard after the ground thawed and the snow melted. The 30-year-old pipe runs along, behind, and under the Colony Square Mall's property.

A man is injured after his vehicle slams into a building.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, the Zanesville Police Department received a 911 call that a vehicle had struck a home in the area of Harvey Street.

"When we showed up here on Harvey Street it appeared that a car southbound on 9th had come off of the road for several hundred feet and crashed into a garage that is used for storage behind 915 Marietta," said Sgt. Chris Phipps.

On Monday night Zanesvile City Council approved an emergency ordinance to bit out the Canal Street storm sewer repair project.

Last spring, a sinkhole developed between the canal and the Muskingum River. In order to permanently fix the damage, repairs need to be made to the storm pipe that runs underneath the canal.

Multiple people are injured following a roll-over accident involving two vehicles.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Wabash Avenue and Bell Street in Zanesville.
