The Zanesville community is already planning how to honor its veterans this November.
Veterans Council President, Bud Johnson, says he sent letters out to the community yesterday, asking for people's involvement in the annual parade, and he's already received four float entries, which is overwhelming.
"I know everybody in this county is touched by a veteran somewhere. Spend 30 minutes of your time and watch them, " says Johnson.
Injuries are never timely, but days before the season kicks off is a whole different animal. The Blue Devils are suffering a huge blow to the strength of their defensive attack with Division I prospect and defensive end, Anthony Smith, suffering a sprained ankle. Smith could be out for just three to five weeks but with surgery likely necessary, the defensive end could miss the entire season. [click the video link to see more]
The Y-Bridge Arts Festival is kicking off tonight and the public is invited to attend.
More than seventy artists will be showcasing their work Friday night at this family friendly event, which will be taking place on the Y-Bridge downtown.
