After a long wait kids at the Durban Headstart get a treat just in time for spring.

The Metropolitan Housing Authority cut the ribbon and opened the gate on a new playground located on Durban Road in Coopermill Manor. The outdoor space was built with $5,000 from a grant funded by the American Association of Health and Recreation.

The board of commissioners for the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority has uniamously approved the hiring of a new executive director.

Steven Randles will officially begin his duties April first. Randles says he is pleased and excited to have the position and he and the board have a vision to build upon ZMHA.

The Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority has a new Executive Director.

The ZMHA board approved a resolution hiring Steve Randles.

He had served on an interim basis since last October when the board fired Phil Allen who had been arrested on a drug charge.

Board Chairman Frank Cook indicated that three candidates had been interviewed, but that Randles was the most qualified to serve as Executive Director.

The Zanesville Metropolitian Housing Authority is making sure children are happy this Christmas.  The ZMHA Christmas Party was held tonight at the James Singer Activity Center. Families enjoyed refreshments and children had a chance at door prizes ranging from MP3 players to new bikes.

The director of the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority says he has no plans on resigning from his position. 60-year-old Phillip Allen was arrested at Port Columbus International Airport on drug charges earlier this month.
