According to the Zanesville Police Department at approximately 8 p.m. Friday night officers responded to call from the Gulf Station on Maysville Pike. Employees of the gas station told police that a white male wearing all black attempted to steal money from the register. Since 1981, Lambes has patrolled the streets of Zanesville, made sergeant, lieutenant and has spent the last 13 years as Zanesville's Police Chief. On Wednesday, Zanesville City Council members, friends, family and other law enforcement officers stopped by the police station to wish Lambes well at his retirement party. One person was sent to the hospital following an accident at the intersection of Underwood and Zane Street.

The accident happened just before 7 o'clock Monday night. Zanesville Police Patrolman Shane Starkey says a woman in a silver sedan was driving southbound on Underwood Street when she ran a red light. Patrolman Starkey says that's when a dark colored sedan traveling westbound on Zane Street struck the silver sedan.

Zanesville Police Captain Doug Merry says 17-year-old Weslee Estrada has been missing since last Friday.

Capt. Merry says Estrada was last seen at Zanesville High School on Friday, Nov. 15 and last talked to a relative on Saturday, Nov. 16. Estrada is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, he weighs 141 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He is listed as a missing juvenile. Thursday evening, a seven-year- old boy was struck by a car while trick or treating.

The Zanesville Police Department reports that at approximately 6:30 p.m. a young boy darted into the middle of the street near the intersection of Ridge and Schaum Avenue, where he was hit by a red vehicle traveling on the road. A neighbor says she witnessed the incident first hand and says she saw the boy get flung across the street.

Zanesville police have released more information about a shooting incident on Sharon Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

Captain Tony Coury says at around 4:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to a house at 1614 Sharon Avenue, where they arrested four people. Coury say this is not the first time that officers have been called to this address.

Starting Monday, construction at the Dresden Point on Maple Avenue will likely cause you more headaches. A portion of Maple Ave. is already down to one lane and Zanesville Police Captain Tony Coury said drivers should prepare for even more daily delays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Bethesda Hospital and the Dresden Point construction sites. Five woman accused of being prostitutes are off the streets thanks to an undercover sting by the Zanesville Police Department.

Capt. Tony Coury said after recent complaints from downtown area business owners, ZPD conducted an undercover sting using an informant and arrested Misty Dawn Taylor, Morgan Jackson, Jennifer Toombs, Donna Schrack and Ashley Lombardi this past week. The Zanesville Police and Fire Departments are kicking off Fire Prevention Week with a joint open house at the fire station.
