Battle of the Bands will be held July 30th at Newton Township Fire Station located at 5490 Maysville Pike, South Zanesville from 12-6. Trophies will be awarded to the top three performances. The event is to raise funds to help the Muskingum Valley American Red Cross host the annual Military Family Fest.
From 10-12 on June 1, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department will host its monthly breastfeeding support group open to all current and past breastfeeding moms and pregnant women. It is free to the public and it will be held on the 1st floor conference room. For information call 454-5040

Morgan County Democrat PAC will sponsor a fundraising luncheon to assist victims of elder abuse from 11am until 1pm on wednesday june 15 in the McConnel Manor social room. The menu includes pressed chicken sandwiches, baked beans, veggie tray & Texas sheet cake. Donations will be accepted.
Weathervane Playhouse opens its 43rd consecutive season with Little Shop of Horrors. It runs June 2,3,4,7,8,9,10,11 at 8pm. There will also be a matinee performance on June 4 at 2pm. Tickets are $26 for adults, $24 for senior citizens and students and $16 for children under 12. Matinee prices are $20 for adults, $18 for senior citizens and students, and $14 for children under 12. The author or Grandma's Apron Tales will be signing books of her story about her grandparents on a small farm in S.E.Ohio. Held at John McIntire Library lobby from 12noon-2pm. Copies of the book are available for $10.00.
