Southern Perry Incubation Center for Entrepreneurs in New Straitsville and Perry County District Library in New Lexington are co-sponsoring a one-day workshop designed to assist those interestedn in getting their manuscript published. The workshop will take place Friday, March 12 from 1-4pm at the Perry County District Library at 117 S. Jackson St. in New Lexington. The cost is $10 and prior registration is required. At St. Pauls' United Church of Christ, corner of High and Arch Streets in Port Washigton, on Sunday, March 7th from 12-1pm. All-you-can-eat spaghetti, salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Free-will donation and the public is welcome.
There will be a benefit for Eddie Miller on Saturday, March 6th beginning at 12pm at the New Lexington Eagles. The event will include food, bingo, cornhole, photos with Star Wars characters from 12-4, a Chinese auction, live DJs from 4-12am, and much more. Children are welcome until 8pm.

On Sunday, March 7th, the 26th Annual Dance & Twirling Contest benefitting the American Cancer Society will be held at Foxfire High School (the former Maysville High School) on Pinkerton Lane. Over the years, the competition has raised thousands of dollars for the Zanesville chapter of the American Cancer Society. Categories of competition will include ballet, lyrical ballet, tap, clogging, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics, pom-pom/cheer, all types of twirling, and modeling. Solos, duos, and groups, including majorette lines and baton and flag corps, are welcome.
At the Chandlersville Community Building on Saturday, March 6th from 8-11pm with the Green Valley Pickers. The cost is $3 per person. Food will be available starting at 5pm. Food will be served by the Chandlersville Buckeye Guys and Gals 4-H Club.
The Perry County office of Ohio State University Extension is sponsoring this program which will be held on Wednesday, March 31 from 10-11:45am at the Perry County Senior Center, 520 Mill St. in New Lexington. Participants will learn about the signs of diabetes, possible complications, and ways to manage the condition, including simple steps to control portions and importance of getting regular exercise. The presentation will also include a cooking demonstration featuring healthy food items to sample. This program is FREE but seating is limited to the first 30 registrants.

On Saturday, March 6th, 5-7pm at Trinity United Church of Christ, 20 S. West St in Thornville. The menu includes: roasted pork loin, red potatoes, green beans or glazed carrots, cottage cheese or applesauce, dinner rolls, beverages and a selection of homemade desserts.
