Vivian Nicholson, 93, of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville, died at 5:40 A.M. on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Abbington of Arlington. She was born April 25, 1921, in Derwent, a daughter of the late William and Emma Saultz Thompson. She had worked as an Operator for Ohio Bell, was a long time Avon Representative, and was a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.

Surviving are a daughter Judy (Charles) Henry of Columbus; a son Bruce (Tina) Nicholson of Dayton; four grandchildren, Christina (Terrance) Marks, Jean (Daniel) Flaherty, Adam (Jordan) Nicholson, and Amy (Ryan) White; six great grandchildren, Sean Marks, Julia Marks, Morgan Flaherty, Dexter Nicholson, Charlie White and Dylan Flaherty; two sisters, Marjorie Holdren of Pleasant City, and Jean Hudson of Byesville; a special niece Beverly Nicholson of Sacramento.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Chester “Chet” Nicholson, who died June 23, 2003;a sister Maxine Wheeler; a niece, Joanna Pusti and an aunt, Melba Cohagan.

Friends and family may call from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the church service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at Brighton Presbyterian Church, 771 Lexington Avenue, Zanesville, with Rev. Suellen Skinner officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
