Keaton Lewis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised in Noblesville, Indiana. His interest in weather transpired in his single digits when he went to his front porch to watch and listen for the thunderstorms.
In June 2017, he took a family trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida, and didn’t know that Tropical Storm Cindy would unravel in the Gulf and make landfall on the Florida peninsula. Without hesitation, he went to the beachfront and recorded himself giving a weather update on the storm.
Throughout high school, he learned to love watching well-known broadcast meteorologists and knew from there he wanted to be on TV someday. His excitement for weather since a young boy turned into curiosity and attended Valparaiso University, graduating in the spring of 2024.
There he earned a Bachelor of Science in meteorology with a minor in mathematics. For all four years, he was part of the campus news station, VUTV-15, where he learned how to present the weather in front of a camera and how things run behind the scenes.
He joined WHIZ News in the summer of 2024. A fun fact about Keaton is that he did 13 years of gymnastics. During that time, he was invited to compete at the Olympic Training Center three times and received an Academic All-American award from USA Gymnastics in 2018. His interests are being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and meeting new people.
