ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Over 200 people braved the freezing temperatures to run in the 10th annual Race for Grace 5k on this Thanksgiving Day.

Grace United Methodist Church hosted the Race for Grace 5K run. A record number of people turned out for this year’s race. All the proceeds will go to Eastside Community Ministries.

“This year we are above any other goals we’ve ever had. We brought in about 216 people. So, we’ll be able to give them about $5,000,” said Run Director Becky Woods.

Runners of all ages were a part of the race. Even a few dogs made their way into the race. Runner Joel Graham wanted to race to support a good cause.

“I wanted to support Eastside Community Center and the work that they do. I try to do a few half marathons a year so any training I can get in between helps out a little bit. Although it’s a little chillier than I expected this year,” said Graham

All finishers of the race received a pair of Race for Grace socks.
