ZANESVILLE, Ohio – February 26th through the 28th, Eastside Community Ministry holds their largest fundraiser inside the Colony Square Mall.

Executive Director Jamie Trout announced the addition of a few new twists that allow for more opportunities for participants to win.

“This year we are adding some new stuff,” Trout said. “We have a raffle that’s going to kick off on February 1st. We‘re going to sell tickets for chances to win some of the packages that we’re going to be raffling off. And just trying to get some things where we have something for everybody. So we’re really looking forward to preparing for it, getting those donations to start rolling in so we can get the word out there about what we’re going to have.”

The Chair-ity Auction works by businesses or organizations donating a chair with their goods, service vouchers or gift cards attached. Those packages are then entered into the public auction and sold to the highest bidder. The proceeds from the event help fund the many community assistance programs Eastside operates throughout the year.

“We’ve had people donate handmade quilts, artwork from local artists, lots of packages,” Trout said. “So basically just pick a theme and whatever your theme is and whatever your theme is you kind of tailor it to that. And that’s why we end up with something for everyone. Because we’ve had golf packages in the past, we’ve had seats to sporting events that serve as the chair as well as the incentive package.”

More information about purchasing raffle tickets or submitting entries to be auctioned off can be found online. Donor forms need to be submitted before Thursday, February 5th, to maximize event promotion.
