ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville knows how to make giving to a good cause fun.

Strike Out Breast Cancer is a 9 pin no tap fundraising bowling tournament that donates all of the proceeds to the Genesis Breast Cancer Center, which helps patients with inadequate health insurance.

“The entry fee is only $25 dollars and those entries are at the front desk at Sunrise Bowling Center. Just go up to the desk and if you don’t see them, ask them for one. We just ask that you sign up and you can write a check and make it out to Zanesville USBC or you can pay cash and you would give that to the person at the front desk,” Event Founder Tammy Ansberry-Hildenbrand said.

The tournament will take place Saturday, February 7th, and fills up quickly. But if you would like to donate items for their silent auction or become a sponsor the deadline to participate is Saturday, January 31st.

“You can be a sponsor if you’d like to sponsor the tournament. You can also do a silent auction item. So if you’re a small business here in Zanesville and you want to be able to contribute to the cancer center that way, you can contact myself or Tammy Besser, she is my league president and we will put your name out there during the tournament. We run all of our sponsors’ names on the screens at the event,” Ansberry-Hildenbrand said.

The event isn’t all about bowling. It features camaraderie and connections with plenty of food, fun and festivities that are sure to wipe away any mid-winter doldrums. For more information about the event you can contact Sunrise Bowling Center or look up Zanesville USBC online.
