ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The 13th annual Bet on Baylee Casino Day and Auction Night is coming up.
This Saturday from noon to midnight at the Perry County Fairgrounds-Coliseum will host Bet on Baylee. Bet on Baylee chairperson and Baylee Thompson’s mother Jody Thompson said this event caters to everyone in the family.
“When we started this 13 years ago which to me seems like yesterday,” said Thompson. “We have in mind just vary simple things. And that was to raise awareness and a little bit of money. Give it to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. A national foundation outside of Pittsburgh and just simply get the word out and what mitochondrial disease represents. Because people still don’t know.”
Admission for everyone over the age of 12 is $10. Admission includes food, special appearances from former OSU Buckeyes, bounce houses, and live band performances.
“I just like people to come introduce themselves to Baylee. Baylee is 16. She’s fully dependent. She doesn’t walk or talk. But she knows people. She understands. She loves being the center of attention. She has a personality that is huge,” said Thompson.
All proceeds benefit the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation to help fund a cure for mitochondrial disease.
