City Hall Shooting Suspect Charged

The suspect in the shooting at Zanesville City Hall will face attempted murder charges.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office announced 39-year-old Patrick Foraker is charged with attempted murder, three counts of felonious assault, three counts of discharging a firearm over a public roadway, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of inducing panic. All charges carry with them firearm specifications.

Authorities said that shortly before 10am on February 12, two employees of the city water department were shot at by Foraker. Foraker allegedly fired three times into the payment office located at Zanesville City Hall.

Prosecutor Ron Welch said that Foraker’s case will be presented to a grand jury in the near future. The Prosecutor’s office is requesting he be held on a $1 million bond.
