Crooksville Man Charged in Hit-Skip Pursuit

Muskingum County-Charges have been filed against a Crooksville man after he fled from the scene of an accident.

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office charged 66-year-old Bruce Brannon was charged with failure to comply and OVI. More charges are expected.

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office said that Thursday around 7:25pm a Muskingum County detective witnessed a hit-skip accident at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Military Road in Zanesville. The detective was in his Sheriff’s Office issued SUV equipped with emergency lights and siren.

Authorities said the detective attempted to stop the suspect, but he refused to stop and led deputies from Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Frazeysburg Police Department on a 25-mile pursuit that ended in Coshocton County.

The investigation is on-going and more charges are expected.
