16th Annual Fall Brawl Boxing Show
Amateur boxers from all over the region hit the ring this afternoon.
The Wounded Warriors foundation and the Zanesville Police Athletic league hosted the 16th edition of the Fall Brawl Amateur Boxing Show. Head Coach Tim Hartmeyer said there are a couple reasons they have the show.
"Today it’s a show competition in which we bring in teams from all over about a five state area to come compete with our local guys. We have nine boxers from the local area on the card today and what we do, it’s a two-fold thing, it’s a fundraiser and it’s also a experience gathering competition for our younger fighters."
Hartmeyer said that this is a great opportunity for people to come out and see the athletes in action.
"Most of the people come to see, you know, the athletes that they’ve been hearing about seeing in the news and finding out, you know, just how good are they really because the shear fact that most people can’t go to these national tournaments so they’re only shocked to see some body is winning and we have several, you know, that are national champions here. There only chance to see them here at a home show."
All the money raised will go towards the Police Athletic League and The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
