ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Fair continues to be the community’s largest entertainment venue heading into its 180th anniversary.

Entertainment trends change with the times but Muskingum County Agricultural Society President Jerry Miller explains how the entertainment lineup will always revolve around its rural and agricultural roots.

“The tractor pull on Sunday. And then we’re gonna… something new this year on Monday, we’re doing bikes, buggies and barrel racing. It’s a different event on the track to kind of give it more of a motocross type of deal but it’s kind of like barrel racing without the horses. And then we’re going to have our standard demolition derby on Tuesday and rough trucks on Wednesday, contest. And then this year, we’re having a dialed action stunt show, which is a BMX motocross stunt show,” Miller said.

Friday will feature bulls, broncs and barrels for an evening full of rodeo entertainment before Saturday’s combine and truck demolition derby rounds out the motorsports themed lineup. Senior Fair Boardmember Heather Noss announced some other activities that will be taking place away from the grandstand.

“We have the firefighters show and then we have the pool party pooches show. It will be offered daily throughout the week. We also have of course, the Bates Brothers Amusement Company. They will have at least 20 rides and attractions. Then of course we also do several different events with the Jr. Fair 4-H kids throughout the week,” Noss said.

If August seems too long of a wait to return to the fairgrounds, the fairgrounds will be hosting the Rough E Rodeo on Memorial Day Weekend. For further details about the May 23rd event, you can visit the fairgrounds website.
