2010 Census Hitting Mailboxes
You can count on getting one specific letter this week when you head to your mailbox.
2010 Census questionnaires were sent out today. It’s a list of 10 questions that every household will have to answer.
"They’re really straight-forward. How many people live in the household? They do ask questions about race and things of that nature, but they’re very basic questions, " says Local Census Office Manager, Donald Jordan.
Local census office managers are asking that you answer and send back the questionnaires as soon as you can. That way, they can hire about one thousand local census enumerators.
"Primarily, they’ll be going to households that have not yet sent back their questionnaires. We want to make sure everyone gets counted, " says Jordan.
Jordan says it’s important that everyone sends back these census forms because the federal government distributes funds based on population, and it affects redistricting in the state of Ohio.
