Doris Irene Jenkins (January 2, 1932 – September 19, 2016)

Doris Irene Jenkins, 84 of Newark passed away Monday morning, September 19, 2016 at the Licking Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 2, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio the daughter of Arlie Elden Howard and Minnie Clarinda Farnsworth.

Doris was a past member of Faith United Methodist Church and had been employed as a clerk at Kroger Company, S.S. Kresge Company, K-Mart, and Linden Sports Center. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her family was her life.

She is survived by her children, Jeffery Jenkins of Columbus, Howard (Karen) Jenkins of Zanesville, Gale (Norene) Jenkins of Boones Mill, VA and Brenda Jo (Gary) Allen of Thornville; Grandchildren, Steven Jenkins, Ashley Brown, Brandon Jenkins, Bryan Allen, Emma Jo (Nathaniel) Davis, Jackie (Jared) Abele, Nicole (John) Small, Larry Colebank Jr.; great grandchildren, Luke Abele, Aiden Brown, Levi Davis, Mason Colebank, and Lori Small.    Doris was preceded in death in addition to her to her parents by her husband, Olan Thane Jenkins, two daughters Lori Colebank and Jennifer Claire Jenkins, a grandson Gary Michael Allen, a sister Norma Rostek and her brother Gale Howard.

Friends may call two hours prior to service from 10 am to 12 noon with the funeral service being held at 12 noon on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. with Pastor Glen West officiating.  Burial will conclude at the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
