Local playwright travels to Bermuda

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -Â Local playwright, David Schubach, will travel to Bermuda this week for the international premiere of his drama, ‘Back Words.’
The play, which he wrote and developed five years ago, tells the story of a husband and wife with time in reverse. They start out with old age, and end when they are wild and crazy young hippies.
Schubach submitted his playwright to the theater in Bermuda, and received a last minute phone call from the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society.
“In the middle of August, I got a phone call. One of their shows had totally crashed, and they cancelled it. And could they do my show right away,” said Schubach.
The cast consists of three actors for two hours on stage, which Schubach says can be quite a challenge.
“It’s a challenge for the actors, because they have to go from being 90 years old to early 20’s. So it employs the imagination of the audience, because you know they’re not 90, and you know they’re not 20,” said Schubach.
The production will run six nights at the Daylesford Theater, and he will return next Monday.
