Clarence “Lefty” E. Shirer

Clarence “Lefty” E. Shirer, 90 of Zanesville died at 1:50 PM Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Adams Lane Care Center.

He was born on Wednesday, March 17, 1926 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Albert B.  and  Vera L. Spring Shirer.

“Lefty” was a , WWII Navy Veteran and Employed at Armco Steel, Member of the Lafayette Lodge #79, Zavi Shrine, Aladdin Temple, Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge, Life member of the VFW and past bugler of the firing squad post #1058 and also was in the Aladdin Shrine Band.

He is survived by a son, Douglas Shirer and, two daughters, Vicky Pletcher and Debra Stottsberry; and several grandchildren and his sister-in-law Shirley (Bill) Robison. “Lefty” was preceded in death addition to his parents by his wife, Helen Mason Shirer and one brother Lee Shirer.

Graveside funeral service with Military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
