ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Local high school students were able to check out multiple colleges and other institutes today October 14, 2016 to help with their search for higher education.

Zane State College and Ohio University Zanesville held their 36th Annual College Day. Director of Admissions, Jody Burchett, said that every year O.U.Z. and Zane State host their college fair for other college admission groups to come in and talk with potential students.

“College day is one of the largest college fairs in this area, in southeastern Ohio,” said Burchett. “So we’re bringing in over 60 different colleges and different types of institutions for area high school [students] to come and visit them to get more information about college.”

Burchett says that she likes when the students can attend on College Day to see Ohio University Zanesville and Zane State College campus, but that’s not the only reason.

“So lots of different variety for them; it’s places they might not get to visit on their own,” said Burchett. ”

So we take pride in bringing this number of this large amount of colleges to them to be able to view and help make their decision for them.

Today‘s events also included a financial aid session for the students awareness on the average pricing for college.
