O.D.N.R. donates to Local Schools

Local schools received Trees for Textbooks.
Ohio Department of Natural Resources provided the Muskingum County schools with money O.D.N.R raised from State Forest Timber Sales from July 1st, 2015through July 30th, 2016. Forest Manager, David Glass said O.D.N.R. has been providing schools in the same county as the state park funding for many years.
“They can use it for multiple things some counties will allocate special funds for events, education, we’ve had some school districts buy buses, computers, [and] improvement of facilities,” said Glass
This year O.D.N.R was able to provide the county schools with $22,485.04. Glass said that each year it varies but this seems to be an average amount for Muskingum County.
“We’re excited each year as a division to give back to the local school districts to increase the textbook program,” said Glass “[We] look forward to it each and every year and hopefully next year we’ll be able to provide folks here in Muskingum County a similar amount that we’ve done in the past.”
Blue Rock State Park was where the Timber Sales occurred for trees for textbooks program to take place.
