Red Cross Needs Volunteers

NORWICH, Ohio – The American Red Cross of Southeast Ohio is in need of more volunteers.
Executive Director, Marlene Henderson urged local residents who have ever had an interest in volunteering to stop by for more information.
“Right now we are actually looking for more volunteers,” said Henderson. “And it could be anything from here local, to being deployed for a national disaster like Hurricane Matthew.â€
An open house recruitment meeting will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at their Norwich location Wednesday, October 19th.
The branch currently has about 40 people deployed, some of those in North Carolina helping with the flooding and damage.
“Locally we are always looking for disaster action team members,†said Henderson. “And those are the people that actually answer the call in the middle of the night and go out and help a family who has lost everything after a fire. We’re the best thing that happens on the worst day of their lives.â€
