Dresden says Vote ‘Yes’ for Road Maintanence

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Village of Dresden hopes that you’ll vote ‘Yes’ on the November ballot.
Dresden Mayor, David Mathew, is asking all residents to vote ‘yes’ on the 2 mills – Continuing Road Construction.
“The Street Committee recommended to council and the council voted to put a two mill levy on November 8th with the intentions of having half of it going towards operations of the street department the other half for improvements,” said Mathew.
Mayor Mathew said that having the 2 Mill- Continuing levy on the ballot is the only way the roads can get fixed properly.
“When the state of Ohio in balancing in their budget or whatever had cut a lot of small government funding out and it’s just kind of, if you want to improve the streets the local people are going to have to pay it up front,” said Mathew. “With that being gone, we’ve lost a lot of revenue and it makes it tough to keep it going.
