Foxfire offers mock interviews

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local school gave their high school students the opportunity to interview.
Foxfire High School is brought in local businesses to participate in mock job interviews. Todd VanReeth, the Career Connections Coordinator for Foxfire Intermediate Schools, said Auto Zone and Foxfire collaborated in going beyond a job fair and decided to let students see what an interview would be like.
“It’s an actual opportunity for our kids to get first hand experience going to get a job interview and have someone who’s actually does hiring to tell them the do’s and don’ts of what to do when you go to find work,” said VanReeth.
VanReeth said the students have taken to the mock interviews with the community volunteer interviewers very well and the students are taking this opportunity seriously.
“We just feel very blessed that they’ve been able to come in,” said VanReeth “It’s been a collaborative effort for them to come in to provide options and pathways for our students it’s an invaluable experience for our young people.
VanReeth said all the high school students are participating in the mock interview and the Seniors have prepared resume’s and portfolios in their classes to help in their job search after high school.
