20th Annual ‘Taste Of Color’
The 20th annual ‘Taste Of Color’ event presented by Zanesville Civic League Community Center took place Saturday afternoon.
The event is held during Black History Month to educate people about different cultures through the experience of tasting exotic foods.
“Today we are celebrating Black History Month, and celebrating diversity by having a program called ‘Taste Of Color’. If you come to the Zanesville Civic League Community Center you are tasting food that has ethnic background,” said Director of the Zanesville Civic League Community Center, Howard Bailey.
Aside from eating, those who attended were also graced with the vocal talents of Tori Green and other performers also participated in demonstrations to show the importance of culture.
“My opinion is culture is being lost. It’s not being celebrated enough, and this program is just that it gets people out on a cold winter day and they come in and converse they haven’t seen each other in a long time,” said Bailey.
Guests enjoyed a variety of homemade dishes including ribs, greens and fried fish. Local restaurants also helped out by providing biscuits and desserts.
