211 Celebrates Month-Long Success
The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan counties is celebrating the 211 Call Center’s month-long success.
Call Center Manager, Audry Foster, says 211 has had more than 600 calls since June 30th.
“Actually, we’ve been surprised with the numbers in a month’s time because that has way surpassed what our monthly totals had been for calls for information and referral before, ” says Foster.
It’s easy to use. All you have to do is pick up your land-line or cell phone and dial 211.
Foster wants to remind the community that the 211 Call Center is not to be used for directory assistance but to help find local services for family members or loved ones.
She says there have been a few technical glitches with Time Warner and Vontage, but otherwise, it’s been ok.
“Everything’s run rather smoothly, which it is a very complicated thing to get all the phone companies that are servicing these areas, and especially since we cover three counties, ” says Foster.
Foster says everyone’s invited to the United Way’s Open House tomorrow from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to celebrate 211’s success.
