Staying Fit this Season
Holiday over-eating is commonly heard of around this time and the Muskingum Recreation Center has tips to keep healthy throughout the holiday season.
Muskingum Recreation Center’s Event and Program Manger, Becky Weir said the holiday season is a great time to stay in shape and maintain what you have.
“We have all kinds of cardio equipment here,” said Weir. “You could take a walk outside, go view the holiday lights, get all bundled up, and just enjoy that time with your family too. Just try to stay active at least 30 minutes a day would be a good idea.”
Weir said another way to stay in shape is by joining the ‘Thinner Winter’ program. The program will take place January 8, 2016 through March 5, 2016. The program will have community made groups of 4 to 6 people with at least one person being a non-member of the Muskingum Recreation Center.
“We’ll have all kinds of healthy tips, recipes, you could have unlimited group exercise classes for that, and we’re just really excited about it,” said Weir. “We encourage everyone to get a team and come on out.”
