Meet your local candidates at the Candidates Forum: Shaping Zanesville’s Future
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An event taking place Saturday, Sept. 27 and is your chance to learn about the local races and levies that you’ll see on the November ballot.
The Muskingum County Library System (MCLS) in partnership with the Zanesville Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Muskingum County Social Justice Coalition are hosting the 2025 Candidate Forum at the Zane State College Campus Center.
“The event is from noon to 3. Noon to 1 [p.m.] is more like a meet the candidates, show up and mingle, get to talk to the other vendors that are going to be here at the tables and just kind of get to know and connect with each other,” said Sean Fennell, the marketing/communications director for MCLS. “And then at 1 o’clock we will start with the opening by Mayor Don Mason, talking about the future of Zanesville and then we’ll move into the candidate discussion. ”
The non-partisan event includes several Zanesville City Council candidates, along with representatives to explain two levies that will be seen on the ballot on Nov. 4. The discussions will be moderated by Sean Fennell, the marketing/communications director for the Muskingum County Library System.
“I encourage people to come out, get to know these candidates because these are members that live in your community that are members of your community and that are wanting to serve in a different way,” Fennell said. “And also, I think it’s important to come and learn about all the different levies that are going to be on the ballot as well so that we can continue to just have all the information that we need to be able to make the best decisions for ourselves in this upcoming election.”
More information about the Candidate Forum can be found on the county library system’s website on the event page.
