Meet ZAAP Art Gallery’s Artist of the Month for October
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The ZAAP Art Gallery’s artist of the month for October has been announced and her name is Diana Wilson.
Wilson is a member of the ZAAP and of ARTCOZ and grew up with a life long love of art growing up on her family’s farm. It was on that farm where she was initially inspired to portray nature in her art and master multiple artistic mediums which can be seen throughout the gallery.
“I work with an array of art mediums. I started with just typical sketching but as I got older I started doing acrylic paint and then water color and then digital art and then photography. So, kind of a little bit of everything,” Wilson said.
Wilson says her artistic passions were nurtured and supported by her Granny Le’Mar, Mamaw and Papaw Johnson, and her former art teacher, Mrs. Kennedy. That support continues in the form of the community she found in ZAAP.
“It’s amazing. Ever since, like, 2014 when I first was introduced to ZAAP I joined instantly. So it’s just so great to have, like, the friends, the art and just having somebody that, like, does what you do. You know, have somebody to talk to,” Wilson said.
