The 21st annual SOUPer bowl

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The 21st annual SOUPer Bowl is less than two weeks away. The annual benefit luncheon gives you the chance to help others while you fill your stomach.

The SOUPer bowl raises money for nonprofits that feed people in Muskingum County. Last year the event raised over $13,000. Part of that money raised went to East Side Community Ministry and will again this year.

“It helps East Side by providing meals for the people who come through our food pantry,” said Executive Director of Eastside Community Ministries Jamie Trout. “Each month we’re able to provide over 200 households with groceries.”

The soups available will be chicken noodle, cheesy potato, chili and, new this year, tomato basil. Trout said they are still looking for volunteers.

“If they would like to volunteer they can contact Keely Warden at Christ table or (Trout) at East Side Community Ministry,” said Trout.

The SOUPer bowl will be on October 15th in the Campus Center at OUZ from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $5, tickets at the door will be $6.
