Food Works Alliance is now a Non-Profit

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local organization has switched to being a non-profit and are helping those in the community who need help selling their food.
The Foodworks Alliance decided and applied to be a non-profit organization.
“We recently filed for non-profit status and got it, so we are now non-profit,” said William Huston, Interim Director. “So any donations people make to us now are tax-deductible.”
Huston said this helps them team up with local food agencies and agricultural people wanting to provide locally grown and made products by co-sponsoring grants. One man Food Alliance is assisting now is Bill Wheeler and his Road Hog Willy’s Barbecue sauce.
“Well one of our clients is starting, he’s got two really successful recipes and he’s just expanding with two new recipes and that’s what we’re working on today and then we’ll do some processing of that,” Huston said.
Foodworks Alliance is looking for a manager. They’re taking applications through Kelly Services.
