ZANESVILLE, Ohio – You may have heard of the snacks called MoonPies, but you probably haven’t heard of the cat named MoonPie.

MoonPie is an affectionate feline who came into the shelter the first week of January. MoonPie is a domestic short hair and about 7 weeks old.

“She gets along with everybody, you can tell here she just loves to be held and you know she just gets along with everybody, other dogs,” Murray said. “Just very laid back personality, just does great.

MoonPie’s adoption fee is 60 dollars the surgery, shots, and micro-chipping will be done by time she is adopted.

“We’re still in our time of year that we’re promoting our kennel sponsors, kennel sponsors are an opportunity to support the shelter,” said Murray. “The kennel sponsors are $100 and you can see behind me here we have [a lot] of kennel sponsors.”

According to the Kennel Sponsorship Program’s pamphlet, The Animal Shelter Society is a non-profit organization that relies solely on donations, fundraising, and fees.
