Another Brewery comes to Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Within 2017 Zanesville will be getting another brewery.
The Y Bridge Brewing Company received their shipment of large stainless steel brewing equipment and fermentation equipment. Owner, Ray Ballard, said he’s been working on opening his own brewery and it feels awesome to now see the fruits of his labor.
“Well after being at this for four years trying to get it going it’s really a satisfying day to be surrounded by stainless finally, said Ballard. “All the prep work and finding the building and finding the building was the hardest thing, the most time-consuming thing by far.”
Ballard says he’s hoping to open his brewery in the spring around April on Linden Avenue.
“We’re going to start with a light Blonde Ale. We’re going to have an I.P.A., because it’s a very popular style. A large Brown Ale, a Cherry Stout, and we’re going to start bourbon barrel aging some of our really big beers too.
The bourbon barrels will come from Mill Street Distillery in Utica. Now Ballard needs to finish the set up of the building and have the state of Ohio give an inspection.
