Former Police Officer Pleads Not Guilty

Fusner

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says a former police officer appeared in common pleas court for his arraignment.  41-year-old Trevor Fusner entered a plea of not guilty to 10 counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material or performance, which are felonies of the second degree.   Authorities say the incidents took place in 2015 and 2016 and involved a teenager at the time.  Fusner had been an officer with the Zanesville and New Concord police departments.  Fusner was one of a trio of officers arrested in 2007 by federal agents for attempting to extort a Columbus drug dealer of a kilo of cocaine.  If convicted Fusner faces a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison.  Judge Kelly Cottrill continued Fusner’s bond at $100,000.
