2nd annual Sports Bash 2018

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- For sports fans around the state, the 2018 Varsity Foundation Sports Bash was the place to be this weekend.
Held at the Fairgrounds, the Sports Bash had everything from former Ohio State players signing autographs, to raffle tickets for sports memorabilia.
“I came out just to explore the world of Zanesville and to give back to the fans who supported me all five years when I was at Ohio State. To really just cherish a good moment and watch some beautiful boxing. This was my first time but I really enjoyed it. It was a pleasure coming out,” said former Ohio State Buckeye, Tyquan Lewis.
Michael Harper of the South Zanesville Cougars Baseball team said as a vendor, his team was able to raise over $600 by selling tickets for the event.
“It’s a great event for the community. If there’s any other money left over after the ticket sales and that twenty-five percent, they’re going to give it back to the community and to our sports program. It’s a great event, a lot of fun and hopefully, more people come next year,” said Harper.
In addition to being a fun way to spend the weekend, this event raised funds for local youth participating in sports.
