47th Annual Moonshine Festival in New Straitsville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The 47th Annual Moonshine Festival continued in New Straitsville Sunday afternoon.
While there was no moonshine to be had on Sunday, one resident said that she comes every year because it’s an affordable event and she can watch her granddaughter enjoy some of the other entertainment options.
“It’s nice that it’s free to get into, and it’s really nice for the children. I usually bring my granddaughter over every year. The rides, they love the rides. And the games, they like to play the games, said Christin Mohler, a New Straitsville resident.
Mohler says that she has lived in the area all her life and has been coming to the festival since she was her granddaughter’s age. The Moonshine Festival will hold their Memorial Day parade tomorrow beginning at 3 p.m., with the closing of the festival at 6 p.m.
